aimdev
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 8 August 2026
aimdev ("we", "us") is a product studio based in New Zealand. This policy explains how we handle information when you visit aimdev.site, use our calculators, or sign up for product updates. This page is not legal advice — it is a plain-language summary of our practices.
Who we are (data controller)
- aimdev operates aimdev.site and related product apps on aimdev.site subdomains. We decide why and how personal data is processed for these studio sites and tools.
- For privacy questions, access requests, or deletion: privacy@aimdev.site.
What we collect
- When you use our calculators without submitting an email, we may store a first-party anonymous identifier (`aimdev_aid`) and first-touch campaign data (UTM parameters, referrer, landing path) in your browser to understand how visitors find our tools.
- If you choose to save results by email, we collect your email address, your agreement to our Terms and Privacy Policy, optional marketing consent, calculator outputs you submitted, locale, and the attribution data above.
- When you create an account in an aimdev product, authentication is handled by our self-hosted auth service (Supabase/GoTrue on our own infrastructure). One AimDev account works across our products.
- Product apps collect what they need to work: Bail stores the phone number you verify and your call/SMS history so it can place your escape calls; Echo stores the message, chosen place, and any voice recording for a "drop", plus recipient contacts you enter; both store payment records if you buy credits or premium features. Each product only ever contacts or acts on your own verified details.
- Product usage analytics: we record pseudonymous product events (e.g. "escape scheduled", "drop unlocked") keyed only to your account identifier, with no names, phone numbers, message content, or precise location in the event data. This runs entirely on our own servers — no third-party analytics product.
Legal basis (why we may process data)
- Delivering calculator results by email: we process your email and calc snapshot to perform the service you requested (contract / steps at your request).
- Storing your lead record for follow-up on the same request: legitimate interest in operating our studio tools and responding to you.
- Product updates and nutrition tips: only when you separately opt in to marketing — consent, which you may withdraw at any time.
- Anonymous analytics and attribution: legitimate interest in understanding aggregate site usage; no sale of personal information.
How we use and store it
- We store lead data in our own systems so we can email your requested plan or recipe, answer follow-up, and (if you opted in) send related AimDev communications.
- We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.
- We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
Cookies and local storage
- We use a first-party cookie and local storage entry (`aimdev_aid`) on `.aimdev.site` so attribution can carry across our studio sites and products. Theme preference is stored locally as `aimdev_theme`.
- You can clear cookies and site data in your browser at any time.
Subprocessors (service providers)
- We use infrastructure and service providers that process data on our behalf under contract: transactional email delivery (Resend), payments (Stripe, for credits and premium features), telephony for Bail — calls and SMS (Twilio), and network, DNS, email routing and storage (Cloudflare). Optional marketing email uses MailerLite only when you opt in.
- Product usage analytics is self-hosted on our own infrastructure — we do not send product analytics to any third-party analytics provider, and we do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
Retention and your rights
- We keep lead records while relevant to your request or follow-up, or until you ask us to delete them. Product data is kept while your account is active; Echo voice recordings are ephemeral and deleted after they are heard or expire; pseudonymous analytics events are automatically deleted after about 14 months.
- You are in control: our product apps (Bail, Echo, Smart Leaflet, Vocabula) include a "Delete my account & all data" button and a "Download my data" (export) option right in your profile. Deletion is immediate and permanent — there is no recovery window, so download a copy first if you want one.
- You may also request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of your data (portability) by emailing privacy@aimdev.site. We respond within a reasonable time.
- If you opted in to marketing, you can unsubscribe via links in those emails; service emails for a request you made may still be sent as needed to deliver that request.
- New Zealand privacy law (Privacy Act 2020) applies. If you are in the European Economic Area or UK, you also have rights under GDPR/UK GDPR, including to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
Calculators are not medical advice
- Our nutrition and fitness calculators provide estimates for general information only. They are not medical, dietary, or professional health advice. Consult a qualified professional before making health decisions.
